Rainbow Road Preschool will be holding an Open House for anyone interested in our program on Monday, May 6th from 6:00-8:00 PM at our school. We are located in the First United Methodist Church at 301 N Jefferson St, Kittanning. Registrations for the 2013-2014 school year are being accepted with programs for 3 and 4-year-old children. Rainbow Road Preschool is a non-profit outreach program of the First United Methodist Church in Kittanning. It is designed to serve interested families in and around Armstrong County. The church and preschool are located on the corner of North Jefferson and Vine Streets in Kittanning.
Our Purpose The purpose of Rainbow Road is to promote social and emotional awareness, cognitive growth, and the creative expression of thoughts and feelings within a Christian environment. Experienced Preschool Staff Barb Gaughan Rachel Rickets Brenda Buzzinotti Tuition Fees are as follows: 2 sessions/week- $65.00 per month (3-4 yr olds) 3 sessions/week-$85.00 per month (Pre-K) Registration fee- $15.00 Our Goals Specific goals include: • To be an adjustment stage between children’s early years at home with parents and caregivers and the beginning of formal education in kindergarten. • To foster children’s own development by providing a Christian environment where they are encouraged to express themselves, be creative, make choices, and develop a sense of independence and personal worth. • To try to meet each child’s needs according to his/her own growth patterns and rates. • To help children learn and develop socially, emotionally, academically, and physically. • To provide an atmosphere that is filled with stimulating objects and activities chosen to encourage discovery and learning. Our Curriculum The Rainbow Road program is based on a two-year curriculum. We do not do the same units of interest two years in a row (ex: trees, dinosaurs, transportation, etc.). This insures that our returning students will be learning and doing new things. Basic skills such as colors, shapes, numbers, etc. are taught throughout all the units each year. Three and four-year olds attend classes two day each week, and the four and five-year olds who will be attending Kindergarten the following year attend three classes each week. Morning classes are held from 9:00-11:30am and afternoon classes from 12:30-3:00pm. Mondays through Thursdays, our classes are mixed age groupings that provide a wonderful environment for each individual child. On Fridays, only the Pre-K students attend, enabling us to focus more on name-writing and other activities in preparation for Kindergarten. Daily activities begin with circle time. It is a time for talking and singing and children are encouraged to share with the group. We discuss our plans for the day and move on to “free play” time during which the children choose activities and toys. We have a large selection of toys that are changed on a regular basis. These are toys chosen to help develop fine motor skills, math skills, role-playing, etc. This time also includes each child’s turn to work one-on-one or in a small group with teachers on craft projects, games, and other learning activities. We have ample space for gross motor activities, such as large ball play, parachute play, active play and more. This fee is refundable only if we cannot provide a space for your child.
Tuition is payable in nine installments:
2 days per week: $65 monthly installments
3 days per week: $85 monthly installments
*For Registrations received prior to June 30, 2013, the first tuition installment is due by June 30, 2013.
*For Registrations received after June 30, 2013, the first tuition installment should be mailed to the above address along with the registration fee.
The second installment will be due September 15th,2013
The final tuition installment will be due April 15th,2014
