NEW MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORIES ARE AT EACH DOOR AND IN THE OFFICE CHARGE SPRC MEETING The charge SPRC meeting for Wednesday, September 11th has been cancelled and rescheduled for Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00 PM at Manorville UMC. SEPTEMBER SIFT LUNCHEON September SIFT Luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 20th at noon. The program will be “Iceland Travelogue” by Mike Bowser. And the menu will be Ham Barbeque, Mac & Cheese, Watermelon, Dill pickles, Cookies. Reservations are due by Monday, September 17th at noon. OCTOBER NEWSLETTER DEADLINE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH YOUTH FUNDRAISER The youth are selling 25% off shopping passes for Boscov’s. The shopping pass is good on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 8:00 AM- 11:00 PM. the shopping pass is $5.00 each which includes free refreshments and to register to win prizes. NEW MISSION EMPHASIS The SEPTEMBER MISSION focus will be in 2 parts: *Part 1-Our church family will collect the 3 remaining items for the UMCOR hygience Kits: 1. Bath-sized soap- Not Ivory or Jergens due to moisture amounts. Do not remove the soap bar from the original packaging. Must be at least 3oz or larger. 2. Combs- must have at least 6”of teeth. No pocket combs or hair picks. 3. Toenail or Fingernail Clippers-Do not remove from original packaging. These hygience items will join the 5 items we collected last month and be taken to the Eastbrook Mission Barn in New Castle. These will be assembled into kits by volunteers and sent out to persons in need. *Part 2-Nearly 20 volunteers from our church family will participate in the Rise Against Hunger project on Saturday, September 22 at the Vandergrift UMC. We still have a few more openings, so if you are interested, contact Janet McKelvey. Our church family has contributed $1150.00 to this event. Six neighboring churches will share their money and participate to make this effective project a success. Our COMMUNITY FOOD BANK continues to pick up our contributions of boxed food, peanut butter and canned goods every month. Remember to bring your items in for this great need. We will begin classes Sept 11th. Rainbow Road is seeking some donations such as tissues, hand sanitizer (any size), garbage bags (13 gal) and paper towels (we prefer select-a-size but any paper towels will work). You may place any donations in a box provided in the Library Room. Thank you in advance for your donations. As always, we appreciate the support of our church for our program! OKTOBERFEST Area Community Churches are sponsoring an OKTOBERFEST. It will be held on September 29, 2018 at 11st, Ford City, PA from noon to 4 PM. Opening Ceremony will take place at noon, buffet dinner (German Food Plus), activities for children of all ages, and more. Proceeds will go towards disaster relief. Suggested donation, $5.00 per adult.
